ਵੇਰਵਾ
HolaReply reads the pages, posts and WooCommerce products you choose, and answers your visitors’ questions from that material, and only that material. Every answer links to the pages it came from.
When your site doesn’t have the answer, HolaReply says so, offers a person, and captures the visitor’s question and email so the enquiry reaches you instead of being lost.
What it will not do
- Invent an answer. Replies come only from your published content and your own knowledge-base answers, with sources.
- Answer topics you lock. Discounts, trade prices, allergens, contracts, legal questions: locked topics always go to a person.
- Send personal details to the AI. Names, email addresses, phone numbers and company names are removed before every request, and the enquiry form’s fields never enter a prompt.
- Read drafts. Only published content is indexed; a product appears when you publish it.
- Lose an enquiry. If your AI key fails or runs out, visitors are told your team will reply, the enquiry form still works, and you get one email about the problem, not one per visitor.
Free features
- AI answers from your pages, posts and WooCommerce products (price as a signed-out shopper sees it, SKU, attributes, stock status), with sources
- Choose your AI: Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic Claude with your own key, or HolaReply AI credits with no key at all (optional, paid)
- Knowledge base: write the answer to a question once, in your own words
- Locked topics that always go to your team
- Enquiry capture: a short form, or the chat asks for an email only when it’s needed, and never twice
- Choose the form’s fields (name, phone, company: required, optional or off); email addresses are checked before they are accepted
- A visitor who asks for a person and leaves no details still reaches your team
- “While you were closed”: what the assistant answered and the enquiries it kept outside your opening hours, with a week drawn hour by hour
- Two chat styles and a dark theme
- Replies in the visitor’s language
- Automatic indexing when you publish or update content
- Your name, logo, colour and typeface on the chat; our credit is off unless you switch it on
- A clear “AI assistant” label under the name, as the EU AI Act requires
- Conversation log and overview, automatic deletion of old conversations (90 days by default)
- WordPress privacy tools: export and erase a visitor’s chats and enquiries by email, and suggested privacy-policy text
- WooCommerce product cards under answers: picture, name, price and a link, up to three (no price while prices are a locked topic)
- A chat button anywhere: link to
#holareply-chator adddata-holareply-opento a button
Your key, your data
You use your own API key for Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic Claude. The AI provider bills you directly; we never charge per message. Conversations and enquiries are stored in your own WordPress database and never reach our servers.
HolaReply Pro
For businesses that turn enquiries into sales, HolaReply Pro (a separate download from holareply.com) adds:
- A Sales Desk inbox for your team, without WordPress access: tickets, notes, follow-ups, saved replies, assignment, notifications and customer history (Pro includes 5 team members; Business 20, and more on HolaReply Desk at $10 a month each)
- Replies to visitors in their chat and by email
- Telegram alerts: each new enquiry on your phone, and your reply from Telegram goes to the visitor’s chat
- Richer product cards: stock status, and sale prices and price ranges
- Proactive messages: the chat speaks first, on the pages and at the moment you choose
- Webhooks for Zapier, Make and n8n, and a CSV export of every enquiry
- A weekly summary email, on the day and at the time you choose
- The unanswered-questions report
HolaReply Business adds, for agencies:
- White label: your product name, agency name, logo and links in place of ours in wp-admin, the Plugins list, the Sales Desk, the emails and the chat’s credit, and client sites whose settings only your agency can open
This free plugin is complete without it.
Not yet
So you know before you install: live chat takeover, WhatsApp alerts and adding to cart from the chat are planned, not available. Shopify and other website builders are in early access.
External services
This plugin connects to the AI provider you choose in HolaReply Settings AI connection, and only after you have entered your own API key for it. With no key, nothing is sent anywhere. A provider you don’t choose is never contacted.
For every provider below:
- What is sent: the visitor’s question, recent messages of the same conversation, and excerpts of the published content you chose to index. When you build or update the index, the text of that content is sent to create search embeddings (Google Gemini and OpenAI only).
- What is never sent: your visitors’ names, email addresses, phone numbers and company names. They are removed from the visitor’s question and the conversation before anything leaves your site, and the enquiry form’s fields are never included. Your own published pages are sent as they are, contact details included, since they are public and are what the assistant answers from.
- When: when you build or update the index, when content you chose is published or updated, and each time a visitor asks a question that isn’t a locked topic.
Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com), the default, used to write answers and to build the search index.
- Terms of service: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms
- Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
OpenAI API (api.openai.com), if you choose OpenAI for answers or for the search index. Requests are sent with store: false.
- Terms of use: https://openai.com/policies/row-terms-of-use/
- Privacy policy: https://openai.com/policies/row-privacy-policy/
Anthropic API (api.anthropic.com), if you choose Claude for answers. Anthropic has no embeddings, so the search index then uses Gemini or OpenAI.
- Commercial terms: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/commercial-terms
- Privacy policy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy
HolaReply AI (app.holareply.com), if you buy credits and choose HolaReply AI instead of your own key. The same text as above (with personal details already removed on your site) is sent to our service at app.holareply.com, which passes it to Google’s Gemini API with our own key and returns the answer. It keeps no question or answer text, only counts for billing. Activating a credit key sends the key and your site’s address.
- Terms of service: https://holareply.com/terms/
- Privacy policy: https://holareply.com/privacy-policy/
Email address check (no outside service). When a visitor types an email address into the enquiry form, your server asks the Domain Name System whether the part after the @ can receive email, the way any mail server would. Only that domain is looked up, never the whole address, and the answer is kept on your site for a day.
HolaReply Pro only
These are part of the Pro and Business plugin, which is not on WordPress.org. They are listed here so you know what Pro would add.
HolaReply licence server (app.holareply.com). Activating a licence, a daily licence check and plugin updates send the licence key, your site’s address and the plugin version. Nothing about your visitors is sent.
Telegram Bot API (api.telegram.org), only if you connect your own Telegram bot in Settings, Lead capture. Each new enquiry’s name, email, phone, company and question are sent to your bot’s chat, and your replies from Telegram come back to your site. It is your bot and your chat; nothing passes through us.
- Terms: https://telegram.org/tos/bot-developers
- Privacy policy: https://telegram.org/privacy
Your own webhook, only if you enter an address in Settings, Lead capture. Each new enquiry is posted there, to a service you choose, such as Zapier or Make.
Source code and build
Everything in this plugin is human-readable. The only generated files are in build/ (minified JavaScript, its stylesheets and the index.asset.php dependency lists), and their full source is included in the plugin:
assets/admin/– the HolaReply screens in wp-admin (React, built with @wordpress/components). Compiled tobuild/admin/.assets/ui/– the shared components and styles those screens use. Compiled intobuild/admin/.assets/widget/– the chat widget visitors see (TypeScript). Compiled tobuild/widget/.src/,holareply.php,uninstall.php– the PHP, which is not compiled.
The build tooling is included too: package.json, package-lock.json and webpack.config.js. The bundles are made with @wordpress/scripts (webpack and Babel; Babel also compiles the TypeScript, so there is no separate tsconfig). To rebuild them, with Node.js 20 LTS and npm 10 (we build with Node.js 20.20), in the plugin folder:
npm ciinstalls the exact tool versions listed inpackage-lock.json(node_modules/is not shipped).npm run buildwritesbuild/admin/andbuild/widget/.
The PHP library in vendor/ comes from Composer, unmodified, as listed in composer.json and composer.lock: Action Scheduler 4.2.0 by Automattic (vendor/woocommerce/action-scheduler/, GPLv3 or later, https://actionscheduler.org), which runs the plugin’s background jobs, and Composer’s own autoloader (vendor/autoload.php, vendor/composer/). To fetch it again: composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader.

ਅਕਸਰ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਵਾਲ
-
Will it make things up?
-
No. If your content doesn’t support an answer, it says it doesn’t know and offers to pass the question to your team. That is the whole design.
-
Does it cost anything to run?
-
The plugin is free. Your AI provider bills you for your own key: Google for Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic for Claude. A small site often fits in Google’s free Gemini tier; a busy one will not, and Google requires a paid Gemini key for sites serving visitors in the EU, UK or Switzerland.
-
My key stopped working. What do I do?
-
HolaReply shows the provider’s own reason in HolaReply Settings AI connection Test connection. For Gemini, create a new key at aistudio.google.com/api-keys: Google is retiring older keys. For OpenAI and Anthropic, the usual cause is used-up credit or a spend limit; the message says where to fix it.
-
Does it work without WooCommerce?
-
Yes. Products are one source among several. Pages, posts and your knowledge base work on any WordPress site.
-
Yes. Link to
#holareply-chat(for example a “Contact us” menu item with that URL), or add the attributedata-holareply-opento any button. Developers can callwindow.HolaReply.open(),close()ortoggle(). -
Does it slow my site down?
-
The chat script loads after the page, in its own Shadow DOM, so it doesn’t block your content or clash with your theme’s styles.
-
Is it GDPR-friendly?
-
Personal details are removed before anything is sent to the AI, conversations are deleted automatically after the period you choose, the visitor’s browser keeps only a random conversation code and, for their own “Your chats” list, the first question and the start of the last answer of their recent chats (never sent anywhere; “Clear history” removes them), and the WordPress privacy tools can export or erase a visitor’s data. You remain responsible for your own privacy policy; HolaReply suggests text for it.

ਤਬਦੀਲੀ-ਚਿੱਠਾ
0.1.4
- Better: a quieter chat header. “Your chats” and “New chat” are now in the chat’s menu (⋮), with email, print and sound.
- New (Pro and Business): Connect to HolaReply Desk, under HolaReply, HolaReply Desk. One Desk for WordPress, Shopify and any website, with the Overview, reports and live chat. Once connected, the chat runs on HolaReply Desk, conversations and enquiries are kept there instead of in your WordPress database, and pages you publish or change are read again within a minute. Your old Desk (team, saved replies, knowledge base answers, conversations and enquiries) can be moved there in the background; nothing is deleted from your site. The free plugin is unchanged and makes no such connection.
- New: conversation style, under Settings › Answers. “Guide the conversation” ends an answer with one short, useful question when it helps the visitor choose (never a generic “Anything else?”, never a request for contact details); “Direct answers only” just answers. New sites start with Guide; sites updating from an earlier version keep direct answers until you change it.
- Changed (Business): a Business licence includes 20 Sales Desk team members, as on HolaReply Desk (administrators are not counted). More members are added on HolaReply Desk at $10 a month each. Nobody already on a team is removed.
- Better: the assistant’s picture in the chat is a rounded square, as in HolaReply Desk and on Shopify.
- New (Business): Idea mode, off by default. When visitors ask for an idea (a recipe, a combination, a routine), the assistant can create one with your own products, using the AI’s general knowledge, and labels it as an idea in the chat. Facts such as prices, stock and allergens still come only from your site. Turning it on needs your acceptance of a short warning, recorded with the date and your username. You can add your own rules for ideas.
- New: a More options menu (⋮) in the chat header. Visitors can email themselves a copy of the conversation (sent by your site, plain text, replies go to your sales inbox; at most 3 copies a chat a day) and print it or save it as a PDF. Switch each off under Features: Email this chat, Print the chat.
- New: a soft chat sound when an answer or a reply from your team arrives. Visitors turn it off in the same menu; the choice is kept on their device.
- New: the line under the assistant’s name (“AI assistant”) is yours to change, for example to “Your culinary guide”, or to turn off, under Settings › Branding. The note under the question field still tells visitors they are talking to an AI.
- New: emails to you and your team (enquiries, notices, Sales Desk notifications, the weekly summary) end with links to help on their subject and what is new. Replies to visitors carry only your site’s words; with white label on, there are none.
- Better: A new chat design: a welcome with “How can I help you today?”, your first quick reply as a large card and the others (with “Talk to a person” when the enquiry form is on) as rows under it; your icon or the assistant’s first letter with an online dot in the header; answers beside a small avatar, with “Answered from” chips; a rounded field whose send button lights up; “Your chats” (the clock) lists the visitor’s recent chats, kept on their own device, and “New chat” (the pen) starts afresh. A light chat colour now gets dark text on it, in the light and dark themes and on phones.
- Better: answers are easier to read: the direct answer first, steps as a numbered list with a short title, facts as a list, and menu paths such as Settings › AI connection in a quiet box, in your chat colour.
- Better: the privacy note under the question field is smaller, with more room around it.
- Better: “Answered from” links are small chips; a long page title is shortened to one line.
- Fixed: the Proactive messages card under Features describes all five formats and points to the Sales Desk, where messages are written.
- Fixed: the AI connection help now says how HolaReply AI handles questions.
- Fixed: removing every locked topic, quick reply or buying word no longer brings the defaults back; an empty list stays empty.
0.1.3
- Updated Action Scheduler, the library that runs background jobs, to 4.2.0.
- Source code and build steps documented (see “Source code and build”), and the build files are included.
- Clearer REST permission checks.
0.1.2
- New: choose the enquiry form’s fields: name, phone and company, each required, optional or off.
- New: email addresses are checked before they are accepted: slips such as gmial.com, throwaway inboxes, and domains that cannot receive mail.
- New: a visitor handed to your team who leaves no details still reaches your sales inbox and the Desk, a few minutes later or at once when they say Not now.
- Better: the Sales Desk sign-in shows your logo alone.
- Better (Pro): a tidier Sales Desk top bar: a larger logo, the Inbox | Manage switch beside the bell, and a gear menu for your account, Settings and Sign out.
- New (Pro): the “When visitors ask” chart shows a card for each hour when you point at it or tap it: how many asked, whether you were open, and how their questions were handled.
- New (Pro): “See it on your site” in the Desk opens a page of your site with that proactive message showing at once, so you can check how it looks before visitors see it.
- Better: a lighter chat widget and admin. The free plugin’s scripts carry nothing for paid features; Pro loads its own.
- New: WooCommerce product cards on every plan: picture, name, price and a link under an answer, up to three. No price while prices are a locked topic.
- New (Pro): product cards also show stock status, a sale’s old price struck through, and price ranges.
- Changed (Pro): a Pro licence includes 5 Sales Desk team members (administrators are not counted); Business has no limit. Nobody already on a team is removed.
- Fixed: HolaReply, Support in wp-admin said you were not allowed to open it; it is now in the menu.
- New (Business): White label for Business: your product name, agency name, logo and links in wp-admin, the Plugins list, the Sales Desk and the emails; the chat’s credit (still off unless switched on) names your agency; and a lock that keeps a client’s administrators to the day-to-day screens.
- Better: questions that have nothing to do with your site, such as “What is the capital of France?”, no longer pull in pages that merely share a word with them. The chat says it could not find that on your site and offers your team, without an AI answer being paid for. Developers can tune this with the holareply_min_relevance filter.
- Fixed: page and product names with an ampersand, a dash or curly quotes showed HTML codes instead of those characters under answers, in conversations and in the Sales Desk.
0.1.1
- New: a clean chat style, now the default, beside the colour-header style; and a dark theme that can follow each visitor.
- Better: locked topics written as a sentence are recognised by meaning, so ordinary questions that share a word with them are answered instead of handed over.
0.1.0
- First release.
